Weight Loss Guide

Weight loss has been the subject of much controversy for decades. It’s hard to keep up with new exercise programs and fad diets that come onto the scene. Many Americans have tried to lose weight but failed, and if you are one of these, you may wonder if there is even an actual way to do it. There is and it is easy.

There has been many diet gurus making many claims but research over the years continues to show that if you want to lose weight and keep it off you have to decrease your calories and increase your exercise. Therefore whether you use this new diet or the next one, the question really is not what you eat but how much you eat. As far as exercise is concerned , it is important not only to do it but how you are doing it.

Every human being has basic calorie requirement for optimum body functioning, starting with food consumption. Unfortunately, most of us take in far more calories than we need, resulting in excess calories being stored as fat. The goal to losing weight is to cut down the number of calories you are consuming to a level a little lower than what you generally require. Since everyone person’s specific calorie intake requirement is different, you can start by getting a general idea by researching your calorie requirements based on height, sex, age, and daily activity. Then gradually adjust it down until you begin losing weight.

Dieting alone will not ensure you will lose all of the unwanted weight, but combined with an effective workout you have a better chance of reaching your goals. Moderate exercise of 30 minutes per day, 3-5 days per week is all what needed to maintain your desired weight. Do exercise to strengthen your muscles. This is exercise that will work to tone what you curently have for muscles, not body building. Develop lean muscles as they will burn lots of calories and help you stay thin.

As long as you grasp how it’s done, shedding excess weight is simple. It’s simply a matter of developing the self-discipline to reduce your calorie intake and start a moderate exercise regimen. Between the two, the average person should be able to lose excess fat and then maintain a fit and trim physiques in the future.
