Stomach + thighs

Question
I'm 15, 5'1 or 5'2 and I weigh 121 lbs. I want to lose weight, my thighs are my biggest issue. They are chubby and nasty, what kinds of work outs could I do that might tone up or cut the fat down on my thighs, I know you can't spot a place to lose weight. I just want to lose overall weight and tone up my thighs and stomach. Thanks

Answer
Dear Kal, I suggest a stair stepper or exercise bike to tone the thigh muscles. If you don't have access to exercise machines, then just walk or ride a bike for thirty minutes every day. Try to walk where there are hills. Crunches are the important exercise for your abds. Try to do 100 crunches everyday.
Your diet should consist of about 1500-1800 calories per day. Limit excess bread, sugar, fruit juice, pasta, rice, and any other carbohydrate food of that sort. Eat a low carb, higher protein diet that contains vegetables and whole fruit as the carb source, lean meat, chicken, fish, eggs, and pork as the protein source. Add whole grain bread, healthy fats like those in salad oil, and low fat dairy. Total the calories you eat in a day, and again, stay around the 1500 calorie per day mark to lose weight. Hope that helps, Laura Kraemer,Slimkids.com
