Nutritional values of preboiled and parboiled brown rice

Question
In your opinion, is preboiled brown rice that takes less time to cook than the traditional brown rice as nutritional as the the traditional brown rice?

Thanks in advance.

Answer
In recipes, to preboil rice means to partially cook it before going to the next step of preparing the dish, so nutritionally it only means that the food is halfway from being raw to being completely cooked.

On the other hand, there's parboiling -- a  parboiled food is food that has been partially cooked. Parboiled rice is produced by a process of soaking, pressure steaming and then drying allowing for faster cooking when you need it.

This should not destroy the natural vitamins and minerals in the rice. In fact, the manufacturers state that the process causes the grains to absorb many of the nutrients from the husk.

Hope it helps,
