prevention bladder cancer

Question
Can you make any dietary recommendations to reduce the likelihood of bladder cancer?

Answer
Stu,
There are several known industrial chemicals that can cause bladder cancer, but unless you work in a chemical plant you won't be exposed to them. Chemotherapy drugs can also increase your risk.
The only really controllable risk factor is cigarette smoking, which drastically increases your risk of bladder cancer, so if you smoke, quit now, and if you don't, stay away from secondhand smoke. There's no known food or dietary component to bladder cancer.
