Vitamin and mineral absorption and quality

Question
I have a malabsorption disorder due to loss of significant small intestine.  I have
to take too many supplements since only a portion is absorbed.  How effective is
the absorption and quality of the vitamins and minerals in Total cereals, so that I
could substitute 1-2 servings most days to forego taking so many pills?  Thank
you for any information  Dale

Answer
Overall, absorption is better in food form than in pills or tablets.  Food-form vitamins and minerals are not artificial like most supplements so the body recognizes them as nutrients and not a foreign substance.  The fact is that 80% or more of tablets and capsules leave the body in the urine and feces, completely unused.  As a result, it's been said that America has some of the most vitamin-rich toilets in the world.  You're better off with foods than a nonfood-based supplement.

Thank you for your question, Dale.  I  hope that my answer was helpful.
