Dietetics

Question
Hi! I'm a senior in high school right now and want to major in Dietetics in college.  I am doing a report on Dietetics and I am trying to think of some exciting/interesting experiments/presentations that I can do to make the students I will teach interested in my project.  I am thinking of cooking high-fat meat in front of them and then Watering it down with cold water, to show them the gross-look of fat. Can you think of any other projects/experiments I could do in my presentation?

Answer
Hello Haley!

Thank you for your nutrition question.  I think you are going to love the Dietetics field.
Why not try doing a high fat/low fat cooking presentation and have the students rate what food choices they liked best.  You could do baked fries vs. french fries, low fat cupcakes vs. regular cupcakes, and high calorie milkshakes vs. fresh fruit smoothies.  Collect the results and do a report on what were the most popular choices.  I think you will find the results very interesting.
