relating to vision

Question
First of all, I'd like to introduce myself:  My name is Todd, I've been following
a diet specifically designed to me by Aajonus Vonderplanitz for almost 2
years now.  A nice lady named Suzanne had some really nice things to say
about you.  After listening to her talk about you, I thought it would be a good
idea to let you know that I appreciate what you've been doing for people.  I
admire your work.

My question is out of curiosity.  I believe that the food we fuel our bodies with
has a direct effect on the way our minds function.  When it comes to vision
clarity, often it depends on whether our minds are functioning properly,
rather than our eyes.  Vision is 90 percent psychological and 10 percent
physical, according to some eye doctors in the world (i.e. Dr. William H. Bates,
Dr. Roberto Kaplan).  Anyway, I was wondering if you've seen any significant
improvement in your vision since you've been following the Primal Diet?

Personally, I am myopic (nearsighted).  Before I started the diet, my vision was
getting worse and worse every year or two.  Now, my vision has stopped
deteriorating, and has even started to reverse its nearsightedness.  I was just
wondering if you can relate to this?

Answer
Well, before I went rawpalaeo, my eyes would get very easily tired so that I would have to close and rest my eyes after every hour of reading books or watching television - I also had very reddened eyes. After getting rid of the raw dairy part of my diet, my eyes were far less stressed and the former symptoms went away but I still stayed at the same level of shortsightedness as such. After a year or so, I tried the Bates Method , on and off, but due to having little spare time and having frequent, bad vision habits(I have to use the computer a lot on and off-work), haven't managed to improve my vision by more than a quarter of a diopter - yet, every so often I get flashes of significantly improved vision, so long as I'm doing the Bates exercises - I just wish they were of a more permanent nature.

I've recently come across some scientific research which indicates that carbs may be part of the cause of poor vision(particularly bread), so  I'm considering experimenting long-term with an all-raw version of Stefansson's high-fat diet(ie just raw meat/raw organ-meats and high-alkaline mineral water) to resolve my shortsightedness.

I do generally agree that raw food can influence the mind. For example, there's been some recent research, in line with Aajonus' ideas re "high-meat", which shows how intake of certain bacteria  reduces symptoms of depression:-
