South Beach Diet plateau

Question
Hello Dr. Zilberter,

While I don't necessary need to lose weight due to health concerns I am working on some vanity pounds before my wedding this January. I have found some initial success with the South Beach Diet--the first 7 days I dropped 7 pounds. Now I am on the 10th day of the strictest phase and I have come to a standstill. I exercise regualrly and have not broke on the diet. This is very discouraging, especially since the diet claims that in the first two weeks people typically lose 8-17 pounds.

Is there something I can do to keep losing these vanity pounds? I am currently 123 and would like to be anywhere from 115 to 120. I am 5'1.

Thank you for your help!

Answer
Hi Martha,

As far as I'm concerned, South Beach Diet works best for those who only started limiting their carbohydrate intake. To move on, you might want to consider further carb reducing. I can suggest our free online Banta Diet http://bantadiet.com that helped in many cases like yours.
