Ulcer Problems

Question
While in the past I have suffered from ulcer problems I recently had what I thought to be a flair up. However, my U.S.History teacher suggested that I might need a change in diet. I have a hard time keeping solid foods down and my diet the last few days has been only Corn Soup, Tomato Soup, Chicken and Rice Soup, and a few pieces of Beef Jerky. I'm afraid I'm starving myself. I have an appointment with my docter but untill then. (Next week) what should I eat to tie myself over?

Answer
Dear Rachel,

An "ulcer" is a serious diagnosis and treatment including diet should be strictly medical. Depending on your ulcer localization (gastric, duodenal, etc.) and origin (Helicobacter pylori, acidic, stress-related, etc.) it's impossible to give you an advice. However, generally your diet should be soft and bland. I don't think Beef Jerky is a good idea.
