You probably want to fit into a nice dress for Christmas Day, or perhaps you’re looking to slim down before you tuck into turkey dinner and all the trimmings.

Cut Down On The Sodium

For example, processed food is crammed with salt, as are granola bars and tins of canned tuna. Moreover, a restaurant chef can be liberal with the salt too, unless you tell them to stop it.

Before you choose your next meal, carefully consider the salt content. Check the ingredients, do some prior research.

Drink Lots Of Water

Research is heavily on the side of water and shows that people who drink lots of H2O lose more weight than folk who choose to ignore it and drink sodas instead.

So if a guilty pleasure of yours is soda pops, energy drinks, alcohol and coffee, now is the time to embark on a health kick. Swap the sugary drinks for water in the build-up to Christmas and you’ll be able to treat yourself to some wine once the festivities arrive.

Lighten Your Load

To lighten your load, you need to become regular. If you only have 1-2 bowel movements a day, or if you have even less, you’re going to be walking around with extra weight.

A great way to become more regular and shift a few more pounds is by eating more fibre. The recommended daily intake for women is just 25g, but because you’re looking to up your game before Santa squeezes through your chimney, you should look to increase your intake by an extra 10-15g. Start your day with a hearty bowl of porridge and you’re already on the right track.

Another great way to get things moving is by drinking a cup of hot water with lemon. You can either do this in the morning or just before bed – or both. Lemon water will lower the PH in your stomach, which in turn activates digestive enzymes. Basically, it gets things moving.

If You Must Eat A Dessert, Try Dark Chocolate

We all like eating a dessert now and then. It can make a meal feel worthwhile, and we simply can’t resist the taste.

But sugary treats are just no good for you, especially if you’re trying to shed a few pounds. If you must eat a dessert, you should replace your usual ones with a piece or two of dark chocolate.

Cut Out Junk Food

Junk food is the villain of the game here, and you absolutely must avoid ALL junk food. This means that you can’t even have a single burger between now and Christmas, because the amount of weight you will gain from it is not worth thinking about.

Eat A Big Breakfast
