Oranges

Question
I eat one medium-sized orange every single day (only once in a blue moon I miss one).

If I leave a cut-up orange (in a bowl sealed with plastic wrap) in the fridge overnight, will the orange lose nutrients by the time I eat it the next day? I'm simply wondering if it is better for me not to cut up an orange until I eat it.

Answer
Hello d,

Thanks for your nutrition question.  It is better not to cut up the orange overnight because when you cut up the orange it begins to go through oxidation. It starts to lose its nutrients.  However, since you are wrapping it the oxidation does not effect it as much.  Hope this helps.
