Can a stomach rub help you lose weight?

Imagine losing weight just by rubbing your stomach for two minutes every day. Do you think it is possible?
According to Dr. Stephen Chang, an M.D. and Ph.D. who’s trained in both western and Chinese medicine, losing weight is a simple matter of increasing the efficiency of the digestive system. He says that a core reason why people fail to lose weight even when they have cut down on caloric intake lies in the reasoning that their digestive and eliminatory systems are not functioning efficiently.
Exercise speeds up digestive system
Dr Chang says that an easy to do stomach exercise, which was inspired from the wisdom of ancient Chinese sages can be done in just two minutes, twice daily. The exercise assists in speeding up a sluggish digestive system and metabolizes the fatty tissues around the stomach and intestine region. This process has the effect of burning off excess fat. The unwanted waste materials are then expelled through perspiration, urine and faeces.
So how can we do this exercise?

1. Lie flat on your back and expose your abdominal area.
2. Rub your hands together vigorously for about 15 seconds, or until they feel hot.
3. Place one of your hands directly on your belly button and begin to rub in small circles around your belly button. Slowly make the circles larger. Using fairly firm but comfortable pressure, rub your stomach at a slow, even pace.
4. Concentrate on the heat building up in, around and throughout your stomach.
5. Complete approximately 40 to 50 circles, or for an approximate duration of two minutes or more.
Consult your doctor before engaging in any new exercises, especially if you have any existing medical conditions.
The above stomach massage should not be done immediately after consuming a heavy meal.
It is also not advisable for the following people to do the exercise:
•    women who are pregnant, or have inflammation of the uterus, bladder, ovaries and fallopian tubes;
•    individuals who have the following conditions: hypertension; stones in the gall bladder, kidneys or bladder; hernias; bleeding of the stomach, lungs or brain; or ulcers of the intestines and stomach.
